Hunger Games Mania

I saw it I saw it.... I went last night with my roommate Ashley and our awesome neighbors who are the ones that took us, and it was amazing.... I thought they did a wonderful job for a movie, I didn't dress up or take any pictures because it was a last minute affair but I still had a wonderful time.... I did walk away with one awesome thing though this Hunger Games cup! yes that is me hiding in the back round, I haven't brushed my hair today or put on any makeup so I decided to hide behind the super cool cup that I plan on drinking everything I can out of for the next few days.

Now I thought I would share with you some of my favorite Hunger Games items I have found on pinterest lately.

Literally Laughed out loud.

Look who joined the Career Alliance

Am I allowed to be in love with all three of them?

I pretty much fell in love with Cato during the movie, not only was he super hot but I felt bad for him and the other tributes, I'm glad nobody cheered in my theatre when they died because I think it was extremely sad even though they were super mean and vicious they were just children, children who were trained their whole lives to die one day in The Hunger Games, children who didn't have a choice.

I also read this article today and it really sickened me that people like this exist and tweet about.  If you have the time take a moment and read.

Sunday Books

The Story of the Root Children

Description:  The root children sleep underground all winter until Mother Earth awakens them, and they get to work sewing pretty new clothes for Spring.  The tiny flower children parade and frolic above earth as the seasons pass until Mother Earth beckons them back below ground for winter.
This was one of my favorite books as a child, an is aged for children 4-8 years. I love the illustrations and the cute story, about how all winter long they wait inside sewing pretty clothes to wear. and sprucing up the beetles and ladybugs with pretty paint, waiting for mother nature to let them outside in the spring, a wonderful read for both children and parents, you will love reading this story, even over and over again.
You can buy this book at Amazon.com with your Swag Bucks, or check you local bookstore, if you would like to save trees or are not adding more books to your collection at this time please be sure to check your local library for this amazing book.
Right now it is only $7.50 for the mini version on Nova Natural Toys

Sunday Books

I have decided to start a Sunday book tradition every Sunday I will let you know about some books either, children, young adult, adult, or something for everyone. enjoy.....

I'm going to start with the Little House on the Prairie books the first one is called 'Little House in the Big Woods" as a child I loved these books for many years, I read them so many times that they were torn and ripped, I became obsessed with anything to do with this time period and even had my mom make me dresses and take me places that involved Laura Ingalls. These books are pretty much an autobiography about Laura Ingalls Wilder's Life. Lately I have seen a lot of people not wanting there children to read them because of the racism that is shown but I think you should trust your children enough to know that they will understand that it is wrong, plus it is always a good learning experience about what used to happen compared to now. These books taught me a lot as a child and helped me to get lost in another world. In this story Laura and her Family travel from Wisconsin to the mighty plains in a covered wagon, they become pioneers read as they experience Native American attacks, starvation, a new baby and marriage among many other things in this wonderful story, you can also check out the website for the books at http://www.littlehousebooks.com/.

Please go check out the first book from the library and fall in love with a family and a lifestyle.

I never thought I wanted to homeschool any future children, mainly because I think I would be bad at it. I never liked homeschooling as a kid very much, but I think that was mostly because my mom didn't do that great of a job at it, which is not that big of a deal. But lately I've been thinking more and more about it and realizing how public school effects children and how materialism is even worse. I just finished a great book Trilogy about the Amish called The Rose Trilogy by Beverly Lewis and their is no way I would ever be that strict but it did show me that I want more simple-ism (probably not a real word) in my life and future children's life. I then was  on the mothering.com forum and found this thread A new answer to "why do you homeschool?" which talks about 1st graders not being allowed to talk about their boyfriends in class. This thread TERRIFIED me, at 6 I remember playing with my skip-it and wanting to watch Arthur and The Magic School Bus, these days it seems like all little girls want Justin Bieber perfume and i-pods. What has happened to our children's childhood? its like it has been stolen away by reality tv and pop princesses, what happened to dolls and play kitchens?

(Disclaimer) I know this is not all children but a majority from what I have seen lately.
